These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Tidal Map mobile and web applications and related services (the "Service"), provided by Tidal Map LLC ("Tidal Map," "we," "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Tidal Map provides tide predictions, weather observations, currents, river flow, and marine forecasts for informational and recreational purposes only. It is not a navigational aid and must never be used as a substitute for official NOAA nautical charts, proper navigational instruments, local notices to mariners, or sound seamanship. Tide and forecast values are models that can differ from actual conditions due to weather, wind, river discharge, and other factors. The captain is always solely responsible for the safe navigation of their vessel and for verifying conditions through official sources before going on the water.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You may use the Service as a guest or create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and for activity under your account. Sign in is available via email/password, Google, or Apple.
The Service displays tides, weather, currents, river/streamflow, dam releases, marine forecasts, hazards, and related information aggregated from public sources, plus tools to record trips and save waypoints. Data coverage and availability vary by location and upstream source and may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable.
Tidal Map offers an optional auto-renewing subscription (Monthly and Annual plans) and a free trial period. Pricing is shown at the point of purchase.
Waypoints, trip recordings, notes, photos, and other content you create belong to you. By saving content to our servers, you grant Tidal Map a limited license to store, process, and display that content back to you across your devices for the purpose of operating the Service. We claim no ownership of your content.
You agree not to misuse the Service, including: scraping or overloading our systems or upstream data providers, reverse-engineering the Service, infringing others' rights, or using the Service for any unlawful purpose. We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate access for misuse.
Tide predictions are sourced from NOAA CO-OPS; weather and buoy observations from NOAA/NWS and NDBC; forecasts from NOAA HRRR, NWPS, and RTOFS-Global; river/streamflow from USGS; dam releases from TVA; charts from NOAA ENC. These are official U.S. Government and public data sources. Tidal Map is not affiliated with or endorsed by NOAA, USGS, NWS, TVA, or any government agency.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that data is accurate, complete, timely, or uninterrupted.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tidal Map LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, or for any damages, injuries, or losses arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, including any reliance on data for navigation or safety-critical decisions. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tidal Map LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (in-app via Settings → Delete account, or by contacting us). We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice through the app or by email. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
